June 2021 has seen an increase of 13.57% in the overall hiring activity when compared with May 2021.
IT jobs accounted for a 3% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in June 2021, registering decrease of 0.68% over the last three-month average share.
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in June 2021
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in North America with a share of 68.14% in June 2021, a 40.68% growth over the previous month. Miscellaneous Computer Occupations came in next, claiming a share of 15.02% in June 2021, marking a 92.22% month-on-month an increase. In the third place was Database and Network Administrators and Architects with a share of 8.51% in June 2021, a 6.67% drop from May 2021.

Top five travel & tourism companies in North America’s IT recruitment activity in June 2021
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 93.43% in the overall IT recruitment activity of North America’s travel & tourism industry during June 2021 over previous month.
BCD Travel Services posted 249 IT jobs in June 2021 and registered a an increase of 6125% over the previous month, followed by Walt Disney with 114 jobs and a 4.59% growth. Uber Technologies with 94 IT jobs and Cineworld Group with 65 jobs, recorded a 36.23% growth and a 4.84% increase, respectively, while Expedia Group recorded a 17.78% decline with 37 job postings during June 2021.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in North America’s travel & tourism industry
The US commanded a leading presence in the region’s travel & tourism industry IT hiring activity with a 90.45% share in June 2021, a 33.93% rise over May 2021. Canada featured next with a 7.99% share, up 1.1% over the previous month. Mexico recorded a 1.56% share, a growth of 500% compared with May 2021.
Junior Level job postings dominate in June 2021
Junior Level jobs held a share of 65.36%, up by 25.29% from May 2021. Mid Level positions with a 22.74% share, a growth of 29.7% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 11.55% share, up 118.03% over May 2021, while Senior postings accounted for 0.35%, recording a month-on-month decline of 50%.
