Hospitality brand Anantara is set to debut in China’s Anji County in north-western Zhejiang Province with a new luxury resort.
Anantara Anji Resort is designed by architect Meng Fanhao of Line+ Studio.
The hotel’s location, Anji County, is a three-hour drive from Shanghai and less than an hour drive from Zhejiang’s capital of Hangzhou.
The property is located on 165 acres of land with views of Emerald mountains and tea plantations at the background.
It also offers guests a range of indigenous experiences including ancient temples and the residence of Wu Changshuo, a prominent painter, calligrapher, and seal artist during the late Qing Period. These are located close to the resort.
Anantara Anji Resort features 162 guest rooms with sizes ranging from 53m2 to 216m2, and other amenities including advanced meeting facilities, a full fitness centre and a children’s activity zone.
The property boasts four international restaurants that will serve Chinese and international cuisines, and an outdoor swimming pool with bar.
Anantara Anji Resort also offers Anantara Spa, which features full healing and wellness facilities and a Zen pavilion.
The company in a statement said: “Sustainable programmes such as tree planting activities for the whole family, which will be organically integrated with the resort’s facilities will also be on offer creating an ideal place for multi-generational travel experiences.”
Construction will start next month and is slated to complete by the end of 2024.
When opened, the resort will become Anantara’s third property in China after Anantara Guiyang Resort in Guizhou Province and Anantara Xishuangbanna Resort in Yunnan Province.
