February 2022 has seen an increase of 0.76% in the overall hiring activity when compared with January 2022.
IT jobs accounted for a 3.02% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in February 2022, registering an increase of 0.16% over the last three-month average share.
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in February 2022
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in South & Central America with a share of 66.67% in February 2022, a 26.32% drop over the previous month. Database and Network Administrators and Architects came in next, claiming a share of 19.05% in February 2022, marking a 100% month-on-month increase. In the third place was Miscellaneous Computer Occupations with a share of 14.29% in February 2022, a 25% drop from January 2022.

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 171.43% in the overall IT recruitment activity of South & Central America’s travel & tourism industry during February 2022 over previous month.
Vacasa posted 10 IT jobs in February 2022 and registered a flat growth over the previous month, followed by A.P. Moller – Maersk with 5 jobs and a 150% growth. Accor with 2 IT jobs and SITA with 1 jobs, recorded a 50% drop and a flat growth, respectively, while CWT recorded a flat growth with 1 job postings during February 2022.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in South & Central America’s travel & tourism industry
Chile commanded a leading presence in the region’s travel & tourism industry IT hiring activity with a 57.14% share in February 2022, a flat growth over January 2022. Panama featured next with a 9.52% share, down 50% over the previous month. Brazil recorded a 9.52% share, a drop of 80% compared with January 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in February 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 66.67%, down by 30% from January 2022. Entry Level positions with a 23.81% share, registered a decline of 50% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Mid Level job ads with a 9.52% share, up 100% over January 2022.
