Marriott International has entered into agreement with The Red Sea Development Company to develop the first Ritz-Carlton Reserve brand hotel in the Middle East.
The new hotel, Nujuma, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve, will be part of the anticipated Red Sea project in Saudi Arabia. It is slated to open next year.
The property will feature 63 one-to-four-bedroom water and beach villas.
It also plans to add other amenities and services including a spa, swimming pools, multiple culinary outlets, a retail area and a variety of other leisure and entertainment destinations including a Conservation Centre.
Marriott Europe, Middle East & Africa chief development officer Jerome Briet said: “We are thrilled to bring our most luxurious brand, Ritz-Carlton Reserve, and its exemplary experience to the Middle East.
“Perfectly situated on one of the most anticipated regenerative tourism projects in the world, the resort will blend seclusion and sophistication to provide a highly personalised luxury escape.”

By GlobalDataNujuma will be located on a set of private islands, which are part of the Red Sea’s Blue Hole cluster of islands.
The 28,000km2 Red Sea project on the west coast of Saudi Arabia will house more than 90 untouched natural islands, dormant volcanoes, desert dunes, mountains and wadis, and more than 1,600 cultural heritage sites.
In addition, the Red Sea destination will feature 18 Ritz-Carlton Reserve branded residences.
Nujuma will complement the five other Ritz-Carlton Reserves properties located in Thailand, Japan, Indonesia, Puerto Rico, and Mexico.

Last year, Marriott reached agreement to bring St. Regis Red Sea Resort and EDITION to the destination in 2023.
