The industry’s overall hiring increased by 5.66% in May 2022 when compared with April 2022.
Out of the travel & tourism industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 2.27% share in May 2022, recording a decrease of 0.06% over the last three-month average share.

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 36.84% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Australia’s travel & tourism industry during May 2022 over April 2022.
Virgin Australia Holdings posted 10 IT jobs in May 2022 and registered a rise of 150% over the previous month, followed by Flight Centre Travel Group with 9 jobs and a 28.57% growth. Qantas Airways with 3 IT jobs and Uber Technologies with 2 jobs, recorded a 40% decline and a 100% growth, respectively, while Crown Resorts recorded a flat growth with 2 job postings during May 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in May 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 86.84%, up by 26.92% from April 2022. Entry Level positions with a 10.53% share, registered an increase of 100% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Mid Level job ads with a 2.63% share, flat growth over April 2022.
