AC Hotels by Marriott has opened its newest hotel in the heart of downtown Bethesda, Maryland, US.
OTO Development, a part of the Johnson Group, has developed and will manage the hotel, called AC Hotel Bethesda Downtown.
OTO Development COO David Ward said: “Like many travellers, we appreciate everything about the AC Hotels by Marriott brand, having opened properties in top destinations.
“It’s a delight to provide the AC signature guest experience imbued with a particular sophistication and practical comforts.”
AC Hotel Bethesda Downtown is 18-storey hotel featuring 220 modern guest rooms and more than 11,000ft2 of shared space complete with a restaurant.
Other amenities provided at the hotel include 3,500ft2 of top-floor meeting space with an outdoor terrace; a 5,000ft2 fitness centre; and a yoga studio.

By GlobalDataAC Hotel Bethesda Downtown features Corella Café & Lounge, which offers locally-roasted morning coffee to late-night bites and creative cocktails.
Situated at the intersection of Montgomery and Wisconsin Avenues, the hotel is a few blocks away from Marriott International’s new global headquarters, seven miles from downtown D.C, a one-minute walk from the Red Line Metro Station and a three-minute bike ride from the Capital Crescent Trail.
The project partners of the hotel include Cooper Carry as architect/interior designer; Balfour Beatty as base building contractor; and Coakley & Williams Construction as general contractor.
Following the completion of the Bethesda project, OTO has opened six AC Hotels — at South San Francisco, California; Chapel Hill, North Carolina; Spartanburg, South Carolina; Times Square, New York; and Washington, D.C. Two more hotels are currently under development in Naples and Jacksonville, Florida.
