Marriott International has opened a new Taipei Marriott hotel in Taipei.
Claimed to be the first five-star international hotel in the Dazhi area of Taipei, the property features 320 luxury hotel rooms, a convention centre, high-end shopping mall and luxury apartments.
The hotel is near to Songshan International Airport and MRT Jiannan Rd Station, as well as the National Palace Museum.
Marriott International Greater China chief operating officer Henry Lee said: "Our close proximity to important landmarks, gorgeous settings and modern facilities make the Taipei Marriott Hotel the ideal choice for business travellers and vacationers who want a high-end experience and easy access to commerce, culture and recreation.
"Local elements of Taiwan’s charm have been incorporated as a part of the first Marriott hotel in Taiwan, while at the same time highlighting the quintessential brand characteristics that have made Marriott a worldwide success."
The property comprises rooms and suites that range in size from 430ft² to 860ft², in addition to a 2,370ft² presidential suite.

Taipei Marriott features five distinct restaurants, including the Lobby Lounge, Garden Kitchen, The Dining Place Chinese restaurant and INGE’s bar and grill.
In addition, the property includes a modern convention centre with 32,300ft² of pillar-less and flexible space.
Based in Bethesda, Maryland, Marriott International has 4,300 properties in 81 countries and territories. It reported revenues of $14bn in the fiscal year 2014.
