Hospitality group Ensemble Hotel Partners has broken ground on a new Hyatt Place hotel in Emeryville, California.
Davis Reed Construction was chosen by Ensemble to provide design / build construction services for the new 175-room Hyatt Place Emeryville / San Francisco Bay Area hotel, which will be managed by hotel management company RIM Hospitality.
Ensemble Hotel Partners chief investment officer Brian Ehrlich said: "Hyatt Place Emeryville / San Francisco Bay Area exemplifies our keen focus on embedded development by pursuing opportunities within booming, well-located retail centers, and working with the owners and other stakeholders to design a hotel that adds tremendous value to the surrounding community."
The Hyatt Place design features use of glass and brick in order to reflect the industrial architectural heritage of Emeryville.
The hotel, which is expected to open for business in the third quarter of 2016, will be integrated into the Bay Street Emeryville retail centre through a landscaped outdoor patio that will extend the mall into it.
The ground floor of the hotel will have a spacious lobby and dining area, with five levels of guest rooms located above.
