Mews, a Montreal-based provider of hospitality technology and cloud-based property management systems (PMS), has acquired Hotello, a cloud PMS solution for hotel properties also headquartered in Montreal.
This deal further bolsters Mews’ growth strategy in North America and more particularly the Canadian market.
It is also part of the company’s strategy to provide technology that eases and automates operations for hoteliers and their guests.
Financial details of the acquisition have not been disclosed.

Set up in 2001, Hotello’s technology stack is focused on ensuring seamless communication between systems, people and environments to make user and customer experiences efficient and simplified.
It has more than 500 customers in Canada and the US and a team with experience in technology enablement for hotel operations.

The Hotello deal comes after Mews saw robust growth and momentum last year.
Mews had surpassed 400,000 beds in operation across 3,500 customers, with $2.8bn processed through Mews Payments.
Furthermore, the Mews Hospitality Cloud has over 70,000 active monthly users.
The acquisition was led by Mews Ventures, the company’s venture and investment arm.
The Hotello deal marks the sixth acquisition for Mews Ventures. It previously acquired Planet Winner in 2019, Base7Booking in 2020, Hotel Perfect in 2021, Cenium in 2022 and Bizzon in 2022.
