Tripadvisor has analysed 12 months of review data from real travellers covering more than 1.5 million hotels to determine the highest-rated accommodations of the year.
First place for Top 10 Hotels in the World went to the Rambagh Palace in Jaipur, India. The 1835 palace-turned-hotel has over 5,000 five-star reviews on the TripAdvisor platform.
The Top 10 Hotels awards list features winners from 19 countries. Other award subcategories include Best Hotels for Sleep, Hottest New Hotels, and Out-of-the-Ordinary Hotels.
The Travellers’ Choice Best of the Best Hotel Awards are determined on the quality and quantity of traveller reviews and ratings posted on Tripadvisor over the twelve month period between 1 January and 31 December 31 2022, as well as an additional editorial process.
What are the key trends for hotels in 2023 according to Tripadvisor?
- A focus on wellness is top of the list for travellers. All-inclusives and hotels set in relaxing Caribbean destinations rank highly in the awards.
- Asia tops the charts this year. Nine of the top 25 Hottest New Hotels are in Asia, along with eight of the Top Hotels in the world, including the esteemed No 1 spot.
- Brazil has the most winners on the world list this year, while Istanbul beats other cities. In the US, Charleston has the most unique winners, followed by New York City and Washington DC.
