Arizona Biltmore, part of Waldorf Astoria Hotels and Resorts, has recommenced operations after undergoing a restoration project, Hotel Designs has reported.
The Arizona Biltmore in Phoenix, Arizona, was built over a century ago and is considered to be one of Hollywood’s Golden Age resorts.
The renovation project included contemporary additions to the hotel without affecting its legacy.
A team of acclaimed designers and consultants from Virserius Studio, PHX Architecture, Serving the Nation, Burton Studio and Wimberly Interiors worked on this restoration project.
California-based Burton Studio has drawn a desert-inspired landscaping design across the property, aligning with Arizona Biltmore’s surroundings.
The renovated cottage boasts a living area framed by wood and plaster walls and furniture and lighting set by Virserius Studio and Imaggo Production.

By GlobalDataVirserius Studio founder Therese Virserius said: “We sought to revitalise the property while preserving its iconic legacy.”
Stained glass and rooftop terraces of the property were also repaired. A hallway connects each guestroom to the outside terrace with a fireplace offering mountain views.
The Spire Bar and Event Lawn, located in the centre of the resort, provides views of Piestewa Peak along with a canopied alfresco space.
Furthermore, the remodelled spaces comprise two pools for adult and family visitors, separate cottages with amenities and dining options and the Tierra Luna Spa and Sol Garden – a new wellness centre.
Tierra Luna Spa and Sol Garden is a 2,600m² spa with 12 treatment rooms and a selection of therapies. It features a cold plunge pool, a hot tub, a rain shower and a wellness bar which serves cocktails and snacks.
The redesigned Paradise Pool for families has a triple water slide called The Twist and a splash area. There are air-conditioned private cabanas nearby the Paradise Pool, a swim-up bar and poolside dining.
PHX Architecture founder Erik Peterson said: “Rather than merely replicating the original structure, we sought to pay homage to these renowned architects by reimagining their vision using modern methods and materials while remaining faithful to their timeless design principles.”
