Accor and InterHotel have announced the signing of Mövenpick Hotel Tashkent in the capital of Uzbekistan.
The hotel, originally opened in 1997, is set to open under the Mövenpick brand later this year and will feature 174 different types of guest rooms and suites.
Among the amenities to be provided include spa facilities, a pool, a fitness centre, a lobby, a bar and a gourmet restaurant.
Accor Europe and North Africa CEO Patrick Mendes said: “Accor is continuously growing its network with the right product in the right markets and is proud to lay claim to the most diversified portfolio of hotel brands in the global hospitality industry.
“One of the key goals in our growth strategy is to develop in the most popular travel destinations for tourists and business travellers around the world.”
The hotel is only a 30-minute drive from the international airport, a 20-minute drive from the high-speed rail train station and it is adjacent to the Badamzar metro station.

InterHotel director Sardor Malikov said: “The signing of this agreement with Accor is a significant step for the entire team of our hotel complex.
“The rebranding of International Hotel Tashkent will strengthen our positioning in the hospitality market as well as increase the level of service and offers to provide the best experience to our guests and opportunities for holding conferences and events of various levels.”
Mövenpick Hotel Tashkent will also have a banquet hall for events and multiple conference rooms.
