The Park Inn hotel in Northampton, UK, currently under the Radisson Hotel Group, is set to be rebranded as Mercure, a brand under Accor Hospitality.
Northampton Chronicle and Echo reported that the renovated property will also be elevated to four stars through a seven-figure investment.
This 146-key Mercure Northampton will be a joint venture between UK-based real estate fund manager Frogmore and C1 Capital Partners and it will run under a franchise arrangement.
From Monday, Park Inn will be rebranded as the Northampton Town Centre Hotel, with an official transition to the Mercure brand scheduled in 2024. The adjustment does not affect existing reservations.
Park Inn general manager Simon Smith was quoted as saying by the publication: “This is the start of an exciting journey as we become the town centre’s first four-star hotel. It is a signal of intent and a pledge of faith in Northampton, where we want to establish ourselves as a real asset to the community.
“Business travellers will be able to use the hotel’s 12 meeting rooms – with a combined capacity of up to 600 guests – and the hotel’s business centre, while visitors to the town can enjoy home comforts and use as the perfect base to explore the town and county’s rich culture and heritage.”
