DISH Business, a TV and internet solutions provider, has launched Platform as a Service (PaaS) OnStream to deliver content to hotel TV screens, displays and mobile devices.
The platform has a customisable user interface and is intended to aid hoteliers in building and deploying tech systems across their properties.
The PaaS lets hoteliers advertise onsite dining, shopping, spas and other events. DISH plans for OnStream to tap into loyalty data to personalise guest offers.
DISH references the 2022 Lodging Technology Study, which found that 50% of guests increasingly prefer digital service solutions over staff encounters.
With this in mind, OnStream offers guests the ability to request linens, housekeeping, room service and other amenities from their hotel room’s TV.
DISH senior vice president Kris Singleton comments: “Travellers increasingly expect to have access to entertainment and the technological comforts of home while on the go.”
