Hotel group Grupo Brisas has opened a new property called Galería Plaza Monterrey in the Mexican state of Nuevo León, as reported by TravelDailyNews.com.

The brand has invested approximately $42m in the hotel, which aims to cater to both business and leisure travellers. The ribbon-cutting event for this new property was attended by various political and business leaders.

Among the attendees also included Grupo Brisas CEO and its corporate director of operations, Antonio Cosío Pando and Jaime Jaramillo, as well as Galería Plaza Monterrey general manager Rubén Villarreal.

The nine-storey luxury hotel features 206 guest rooms, including lofts and master suites.

Located in the financial hub of Monterrey, the hotel offers views of the Cerro de la Silla mountain as well as a bar and restaurant serving diverse cuisine with a regional touch.

Among the amenities provided at the hotel are a terrace for events, a gym, a spa, an outdoor pool, 24-hour room service and concierge services.

This hotel was constructed within 12 months, creating 115 direct and 450 indirect jobs.

The new hotel is a member of Preferred Hotel & Resort, which consists of a network of more than 650 hotels.

The hotel group plans to soon open two new properties: Galería Plaza León in Guanajuato and Galería Plaza Insurgentes in Mexico City.

Grupo Brisas already operates hotels in several locations, including Veracruz, Reforma, Irapuato, San Jerónimo in Mexico City and Monterrey.
