The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company has opened the first Ritz-Carlton property in the Pacific Northwest region of the US, called The Ritz-Carlton, Portland.

Located in downtown Portland in the state of Oregon, the 35-storey hotel offers views of the Rose City.

The Ritz-Carlton, Portland general manager Marie Browne said: “As the first Ritz-Carlton property to open in the Pacific Northwest, this project has been an extraordinary collaboration between the brand, ownership and the Portland community.

“Our team of talented architects, designers, builders and staff have long awaited the day we are able to open our doors and welcome guests inside this property. We have worked alongside local and regional artisans, purveyors and tastemakers to create an authentic Pacific Northwest experience, providing a new destination for locals and visitors alike.”

The hotel is housed within a 460ft crystalline tower envisioned by GBD Architects and the hotel’s interiors were designed by ROAM Interior Design.

It boasts 207 guestrooms and 44 suites, inspired by Oregon’s nature and history.

The hotel’s 20th floor features The Ritz-Carlton Club, which offers access to a club lounge that provides five daily meal presentations.

This floor also has a restaurant called Bellpine, led by executive chef Pedro Almeida and chef Lauro Romero.

The hotel’s 19th floor features Hidden Mountain Lake Infinity Pool, The Ritz-Carlton Spa and a 4,000ft² fitness facility and yoga studio.

The hotel can host events ranging from intimate meetings to grand galas on its Ascending Mount Hood, the dedicated events floor with over 17,000ft² of meeting and event space.

Additionally, the property has a grand lobby, called Forest Hall and an intimate lobby bar, called Meadowrue, that serves as a daytime coffee lounge.

The hotel displays an art collection that spans the entire property, with works by local artists such as Rachel Austin, David Rice and Kavin Buck, among others.

The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company, a wholly owned subsidiary of Marriott International, has over 110 hotels across 35 countries and territories.
