IHG Hotels & Resorts has announced the signing of its first Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants property in Italy, marking the brand’s debut in the country.
The new hotel, situated in the town of Taormina, Sicily, is a management agreement with Società Turistica Alberghiera Taorminese.
The Kimpton brand debut in Italy is part of IHG’s strategic investment in the luxury and lifestyle sector, with six openings and signings in 2023 alone.
Its recent launches include Six Senses in Rome, InterContinental Rome Ambasciatori Palace, and Hotel Indigo Florence. Additionally, two more Hotel Indigo properties in Turin and Trieste and the first Vignette Collection property, Hotel Alexandra in Rome, are set to open in the coming years.
The upcoming Kimpton in Sicily will feature 59 boutique bedrooms, destination dining, a breakfast room, and a bar terrace. Guests can also look forward to an outdoor Mediterranean garden, a 20m swimming pool, and a tennis court.
The hotel will be part of Kimpton’s global portfolio, which includes locations in Barcelona, Paris and London.
