eTip, a digital tipping and financial benefits platform, has announced an exclusive partnership with Shamin Hotels.
Shamin Hotels specialises in owning, operating and developing commercial business hotels affiliated with the Hilton, Marriott and InterContinental Hotel Group brands.
The collaboration allows guests at Shamin Hotels’ 76 properties to tip more than 3,000 associates.
The hotel company is leveraging eTip’s platform to facilitate guest tipping and improve staff retention.
eTip’s digital platform will also help engage the team and guests of Shamin Hotels with simple cashless tipping technology.
Shamin Hotels CEO Neil Amin said: “Our daily mission is to work to create the ‘Shamin Touch’.

By GlobalData“Today, we are doing just that, recognising the increasing technological preferences of our customers and responding accordingly with a state-of-the-art tipping solution that supports our passionate associates.”
eTip co-founder and CEO Nicolas Cassis said: “As we pioneer the future of hospitality with partners like Shamin Hotels, we look forward to enhancing guest experiences and uplifting the lives of associates.
“At eTip, we believe in the power of innovation to create a ripple effect of positive change. Together, we are rewriting the script of service, one digital tip at a time.”
The partnership comes as a response to changing guest preferences, with a recent eTip survey revealing that nearly 95% of guests would have tipped hotel staff if a digital option was available.
eTip’s system is designed for convenience, requiring no app download or login.
It offers guests the option to scan a QR code or use the ‘tap to tip’ feature via NFC (near field communication)-enabled QR codes to tip with their preferred payment method.
This innovation ensures that associates receive their tips directly into their bank accounts, bypassing payroll wait times.
Earlier this month, US-based Davidson Hospitality Group selected eTip as its digital tipping partner.
The integration of eTip’s platform at Davidson’s properties is expected to enhance the guest experience by simplifying the tipping process.
Currently, eTip caters to various service sectors including hotels, restaurants and gaming, aiming to modernise the tipping process and provide financial benefits to service workers.
