UK-based specialist hotel property adviser Christie & Co and joint agent Savills have sold its three-hotel portfolio in Italy to CHC Holding, an Italian hotel operator.
The three properties included in this deal are Holiday Inn Naples, My One Hotel Bologna, and Hotel Villa Ducale Parma.
Christie & Co and Savills decided to market this portfolio in May 2023.
The acquisition of these hotels, representing a combined offering of 536 bedrooms, presents CHC Holding with substantial opportunities for repositioning and asset management, as well as a chance to consolidate its presence in the Italian market.
Holiday Inn Naples, which includes 327 bedrooms, is situated in the Centro Direzionale business district, providing easy access to the city centre, Naples International Airport, and key tourist destinations.
Hotel Villa Ducale in Parma, featuring 113 bedrooms, is adjacent to the national rugby training facility. Its location just north of Parma city centre and near Parma Airport positions it well for both business and leisure travellers.

By GlobalDataMeanwhile, the 96-bedroom My One Hotel Bologna is located in Bologna’s business district.
This four-star hotel is close to Bologna Guglielmo Marconi Airport, the main train station, and tourist attractions such as the ‘two towers,’ Piazza Maggiore, and the Sanctuary of the Madonna di San Luca.
While the financial details of the deal remain undisclosed, it has been described as “one of the largest” deals in terms of size, in the Italian hotel sector recorded during the first quarter of this year.
Savills Hospitality & Leisure Italy head Dario Leone said: “We are honoured to have contributed to the closing of this deal involving the Italian operator, CHC, who showed a very strong interest from the outset of the competitive sale process.
“This transaction, which is one of the largest in Italy in Q1 2024 in terms of size, confirms the growing interest in the hotel market, including secondary destinations, which are increasingly sought-after by both domestic and international investors.”
Last month, Christie & Co and Savills were instructed to market the Ston Easton Park Estate, a former country house hotel, in Somerset, UK.
