The St Regis Hotels & Resorts, a participant of Marriott International’s global travel programme, forays into Serbia with the new St Regis Belgrade.
Located at the confluence of the Sava and Danube rivers, the new 42-storey tower is a component of the Belgrade Waterfront, an urban revitalisation endeavour.
The property is developed by Abu Dhabi-based Eagle Hills, a private investment and real estate development company, and designed by Skidmore, Owings & Merrill Global (SOM).
Marriott International EMEA Luxury Brands and Communications vice president Helen Leighton said: “Sitting at the intersection of Western and Eastern Europe, the city of Belgrade has been shaped by centuries of history, featuring a unique and diverse range of architectural styles, from medieval fortresses to modern skyscrapers.
“The St Regis Belgrade marries the historical patrimony and vibrant culture of the city with the timeless sophistication and unparalleled service of the brand, incorporating the true essence of the destination reinterpreted with a modern twist.”
The design concept of the hotel is inspired by Belgrade’s rich architectural history and reflects the city’s unique character as ‘the city of two halves’.
