The Jaisalmer Marriott Resort & Spa in Rajasthan, India, has taken a step towards sustainability by introducing an onsite electric vehicle (EV) charging station.
The station is equipped with two charging points and is accessible to both guests and city residents through a user-friendly app, reported ETHospitalityWorld.com.
To enhance the experience for those waiting for their vehicles to charge, the resort offers brewed coffee options and light snacks at The Mithai Company, its lobby patisserie.
The resort’s EV charging station is located near popular tourist attractions in Jaisalmer such as Gadisar Lake, Patwon Ki Haveli, and the Living Fort.
The resort stated that this addition contributes to the region’s ecological initiatives and also underscores its commitment to preserving the natural beauty and cultural heritage of this UNESCO World Heritage city.
Jaisalmer Marriott Resort & Spa general manager Shiv Bose said: “This move seamlessly aligns with Marriott’s ongoing mission to promote green energy and sustainable travel while reducing reliance on fossil fuel consumption in daily operations.”
