IHG Hotels & Resorts is set to debut Costa Irminia Retreat & Spa, Vignette Collection, marking the second Vignette Collection hotel in Italy and the first in Sicily.

The move marks IHG’s first partnership with Blu Lava Resorts, further expanding its position in Italy.

Panoram Hotels will manage the 43-room Costa Irminia Retreat & Spa, Vignette Collection, which is set to open later this year.

IHG Hotels & Resorts Europe development vice president Willemijn Geels said: “This is our first collaboration with Blu Lava Resorts, marking the beginning of a long and exciting partnership dedicated to creating a one-of-a-kind destination in one of the world’s most iconic locations.

“Together, we look forward to offering guests an authentic travel experience as they are immersed in the hotel’s distinctive character, stunning surroundings, and local charm when Costa Irminia Retreat & Spa, Vignette Collection opens its doors in the second half of 2025.”

Guests can enjoy a private beach club with direct access to the Mediterranean beaches, two swimming pools, a bar, and an all-day dining restaurant.

Blu Lava Resorts owner Nadia Perna said: “IHG Hotels & Resorts’ growing reputation for crafting unparalleled luxury destinations, both in Italy and globally, is the key reason we chose them as partners for this hotel.”

Vignette Collection, the newest addition to IHG’s luxury and lifestyle brands, has 17 properties open and under development across Europe, including recent signings in France, Turkey, Spain, the UK, and Hungary.

Within its first ten years, the Vignette Collection aims to reach 100 open and pipeline hotels.

IHG’s presence in Italy marks 30 open hotels across seven brands and an additional 12 properties in the pipeline.

The portfolio includes brands like InterContinental, Six Senses, Hotel Indigo, voco, Crowne Plaza, Holiday Inn, and Holiday Inn Express.

Last year, IHG expanded its Italian offerings with the signing of its first Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants property in Taormina, Sicily, introducing the brand to Italy for the first time.
