July 2021 has seen an increase of 9.75% in the overall hiring activity when compared with June 2021.
IT jobs accounted for a 2.43% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in July 2021, registering decrease of 0.9% over the last three-month average share.
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in July 2021
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in Middle East & Africa with a share of 48.94% in July 2021, a 14.81% drop over the previous month. Computer and Information Analysts came in next, claiming a share of 27.66% in July 2021, marking an 85.71% month-on-month increase. In the third place was Database and Network Administrators and Architects with a share of 12.77% in July 2021, a 50% growth from June 2021.

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average decline of 25.53% in the overall IT recruitment activity of Middle East & Africa’s travel & tourism industry during July 2021 over previous month.
Uber Technologies posted 10 IT jobs in July 2021 and registered a decline of 9.09% over the previous month, followed by Qatar Airways Group QCSC with 8 jobs and a 73.33% drop. Marriott International with 7 IT jobs and Guesty with 5 jobs, recorded a 133.33% growth and a flat growth, respectively, while DSV Panalpina recorded a 66.67% increase with 5 job postings during July 2021.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in Middle East & Africa’s travel & tourism industry
Egypt commanded a leading presence in the region’s travel & tourism industry IT hiring activity with a 23.4% share in July 2021, a 266.67% rise over June 2021. Qatar featured next with a 21.28% share, down 67.74% over the previous month. South Africa recorded a 17.02% share, a growth of 166.67% compared with June 2021.
Junior Level job postings dominate in July 2021
Junior Level jobs held a share of 42.55%, down by 44.44% from June 2021. Mid Level positions with a 36.17% share, a decline of 29.17% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 21.28% share, up 66.67% over June 2021.
