The company’s overall hiring activity declined by 10.34% in December 2021 when compared with November 2021.

IT jobs claimed a 35.62% share in the company’s total hiring activity in December 2021, and recorded a 1.91% decline over the last three-month average share.
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers tops Expedia Group IT hiring in December 2021
Out of the total IT job titles posted by Expedia Group, Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers emerged as the leading occupation, recording a share of 88.89% in December 2021, and a 28.66% drop over November 2021, while Computer and Information Research Scientists claimed a share of 4.76% in December 2021, and registered a decline of 50%. Miscellaneous Computer Occupations held a share of 3.17% in December 2021, a 75% drop from November 2021.

North America emerged as the leading region in the global travel & tourism IT hiring activity in December 2021 with a 47.62% share, which marked a 33.33% drop over the previous month.
Asia-Pacific stood next with 34.92%, registering a 46.34% month-on-month decline. Europe was the third leading region with a 12.7% share and a 30.43% drop over November 2021.
In the fourth place was Middle East & Africa with a share of 4.76% and a month-on-month flat growth.
The US commanded a leading presence in the region’s travel & tourism industry IT hiring activity with a 46.03% share in December 2021, a 27.5% decline over November 2021. India featured next with a 30.95% share, down 39.06% over the previous month. The UK recorded a 6.35% share, a decline of 57.89% compared with November 2021.
Junior Level jobs lead Expedia Group IT hiring activity in December 2021
Junior Level jobs held a share of 75.4%, down by 22.76% from November 2021. Mid Level positions with a 10.32% share, a decline of 65.79% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 7.94% share, down 70.59% over November 2021, while Senior postings accounted for 6.35%, recording a month-on-month increase of 300%.
