October 2022 has seen a decrease of 9.45% in the overall hiring activity when compared with September 2022.
IT jobs accounted for a 1.96% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in October 2022, registering an increase of 0.33% over the last three-month average share.
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in October 2022
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in Middle East & Africa with a share of 59.18% in October 2022, an 81.25% rise over the previous month. Database and Network Administrators and Architects came in next, claiming a share of 26.53% in October 2022, marking a 23.53% month-on-month decline. In the third place was Computer and Information Analysts with a share of 10.2% in October 2022, a 25% rise from September 2022.

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average decline of 8.16% in the overall IT recruitment activity of Middle East & Africa’s travel & tourism industry during October 2022 over previous month.
Uber Technologies posted 17 IT jobs in October 2022 and registered an increase of 88.89% over the previous month, followed by Emirates Group with 16 jobs and a 77.78% growth. A.P. Moller – Maersk with 5 IT jobs and Qatar Airways Group QCSC with 4 jobs, recorded a 70.59% drop and a 66.67% drop, respectively, while Caesars Entertainment recorded a 50% increase with 3 job postings during October 2022.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in Middle East & Africa’s travel & tourism industry
United Arab Emirates commanded a leading presence in the region’s travel & tourism industry IT hiring activity with a 36.73% share in October 2022, a 10% decrease over September 2022. Egypt featured next with an 18.37% share, up 50% over the previous month. Jordan recorded a 16.33% share, a flat growth compared with September 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in October 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 73.47%, down by 5.26% from September 2022. Mid Level positions with a 16.33% share, registered a decline of 52.94% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 6.12% share, down 57.14% over September 2022, while Senior postings accounted for 4.08%, recording a month-on-month flat growth.
