August 2022 has seen an increase of 5.44% in the overall hiring activity when compared with July 2022.
IT jobs accounted for a 1.56% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in August 2022, registering a decrease of 0.47% over the last three-month average share.
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in August 2022
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in Middle East & Africa with a share of 55.1% in August 2022, a 170% rise over the previous month. Database and Network Administrators and Architects came in next, claiming a share of 20.41% in August 2022, marking a 150% month-on-month increase. In the third place was Miscellaneous Computer Occupations with a share of 16.33% in August 2022, a 166.67% rise from July 2022.

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 109.52% in the overall IT recruitment activity of Middle East & Africa’s travel & tourism industry during August 2022 over previous month.
The Emirates Group posted 18 IT jobs in August 2022 and registered an increase of 200% over the previous month, followed by Qatar Airways Group QCSC with 11 jobs and a 15.38% drop. A.P. Moller – Maersk with 7 IT jobs and Uber Technologies with 6 jobs, recorded a flat growth and a flat growth, respectively, while Kerzner International Holdings recorded a flat growth with 2 job postings during August 2022.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in Middle East & Africa’s travel & tourism industry
United Arab Emirates commanded a leading presence in the region’s travel & tourism industry IT hiring activity with a 44.9% share in August 2022, a 120% increase over July 2022. Qatar featured next with a 26.53% share, flat growth over the previous month. Morocco recorded a 10.2% share, a flat growth compared with July 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in August 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 61.22%, up by 42.86% from July 2022. Mid Level positions with a 30.61% share, registered a growth of 200% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 6.12% share, up 50% over July 2022, while Senior postings accounted for 2.04%, recording a month-on-month flat growth.
