March 2022 has seen an increase of 11.05% in the overall hiring activity when compared with February 2022.
IT jobs accounted for a 3.31% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in March 2022, registering a decrease of 0.2% over the last three-month average share.
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in March 2022
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in North America with a share of 64.13% in March 2022, a 15.33% drop over the previous month. Database and Network Administrators and Architects came in next, claiming a share of 10.18% in March 2022, marking a 9.32% month-on-month decline. In the third place was Miscellaneous Computer Occupations with a share of 9.8% in March 2022, a 24.26% drop from February 2022.

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average decline of 12.2% in the overall IT recruitment activity of North America’s travel & tourism industry during March 2022 over previous month.
The Walt Disney posted 235 IT jobs in March 2022 and registered an increase of 3.52% over the previous month, followed by The Walt Disney with 235 jobs and a 3.52% growth. Expedia with 67 IT jobs, recorded a 47.66% drop, while MGM Resorts International recorded a 57.14% increase with 44 job postings during March 2022.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in North America’s travel & tourism industry
The US commanded a leading presence in the region’s travel & tourism industry IT hiring activity with a 94.2% share in March 2022, a 14.8% decrease over February 2022. Canada featured next with a 5.61% share, down 19.18% over the previous month. Mexico recorded a 0.19% share, a drop of 75% compared with February 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in March 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 57.75%, down by 18.19% from February 2022. Mid Level positions with a 25.5% share, registered a decline of 13.83% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 16.18% share, down 8.11% over February 2022, while Senior postings accounted for 0.57%, recording a month-on-month growth of 20%.
