Management Occupations drive corporate governance-related hiring activity
Management Occupations, with a share of 20%, emerged as the top corporate governance-related job roles within the travel and tourism industry in Q2 2024, with new job postings drop by 4% quarter-on-quarter. Office and Administrative Support Occupations came in second with a share of 12% in Q2 2024, with new job postings dropping by 14% over the previous quarter.
The other prominent corporate governance roles include Food Preparation and Serving Related Occupations with a 7% share in Q2 2024, Business and Financial Operations Occupations with a 6% share of new job postings.
Top five companies in travel and tourism industry accounted for 48% of hiring activity
The top companies, in terms of number of new job postings tracked by GlobalData, as of Q2 2024 were Shangri-La Asia, Hilton Worldwide, Star Entertainment Group, Accor, and Marriott International. Together they accounted for a combined share of 48% of all corporate governance-related new jobs in the travel and tourism industry.
Shangri-La Asia posted 732 corporate governance-related new jobs in Q2 2024, Hilton Worldwide 457 jobs, Star Entertainment Group 378 jobs, Accor 287 jobs, and Marriott International 241 jobs, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics.
Hiring activity was driven by the US with a 45.06% share of total new job postings, Q2 2024
The largest share of corporate governance-related new job postings in the travel and tourism industry in Q2 2024 was in the US with 45.06% followed by Australia (9.77%) and Canada (8.61%). The share represented by the US was two percentage points lower than the 46.93% share it accounted for in Q1 2024.
