Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group is planning to establish more than 130 new hotels in India by 2024, as it eyes large-scale expansion in the country.
The company says that the focus will be on mid-scale hotels under management contracts as they exhibit more potential and are in demand.
Speaking to PTI, Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group South Asia chairman K B Kachru, said: "The new openings will be primarily of Park Inn by Radisson and Country Inns & Suites by Carlson."
The hotels will most probably be located in mini-metros, religious and tourist destinations.
Commenting on Carlson Rezidor’s business model and investment plan in India, Kachru stated: "The hotels will be under the hotel management agreement. Our investment is mainly in developing human capital, technology and the sales network.
"There is a huge middle-class and above population here. With the development of new tourist sectors, the potential here is immense for the hospitality industry."
The group, which has over 1,340 hotels in more than 100 countries, is also planning to introduce its luxury brand ‘Quorvus Collection’ in India.
Carlson Rezidor manages brands such as Radisson, Park Inn by Radisson, Radisson Blu, Park Plaza, and Country Inns & Suites by Carlson, and has 68 operational hotels in India.
