Hilton Worldwide has inked management agreements with Eden Group Company to open five new properties in Myanmar.
The five properties include three new hotels – Hilton Bagan and Hilton Inle Lake, both scheduled to open in 2016, and the Hilton Mandalay, which will be launched in 2017.
The other two hotels are recently opened properties in Nay Pyi Taw and on Ngapali beach in Rakhine State, which will be rebranded as Hilton Nay Pyi Taw and Hilton Ngapali Beach Resort respectively.
Hilton Worldwide Middle East and Asia Pacific senior vice president of development Andrew Clough said: "The introduction of five Hilton properties to the key destinations of Nay Pyi Taw, Ngapali, Bagan, Mandalay and Inle Lake marks our commitment to Myanmar and we are pleased to be working with a partner of the experience and standing of the Eden Group to advance our footprint within this dynamic country."
Earlier in 2013, Hilton signed an agreement to operate a hotel in the country, becoming the first western hospitality group to do so in Myanmar.
Hilton Worldwide Asia Pacific president Martin Rinck said, "We are delighted to continue our strategic growth in Myanmar and to significantly increase our footprint with this landmark deal, which will allow us to contribute economically and socially to this great country."
