Lemon Tree Hotels has announced plans to open 900 rooms across India by the end of the next financial year.
The company will invest approximately INR6bn ($97m).
Lemon Tree Hotels president and executive director Rahul Pandit told PTI that out of the total proposed room count, 750 will be in the new five hotels, which will be opened across the company’s brands, while another 150 will be added in the city of Delhi, India.
According to the company, the Vadodara hotel will be operated under the Lemon Tree brand, while the three Gurgaon hotels will be operated under the Lemon Tree Premier, Lemon Tree and Red Fox brands.
The hotel in Mumbai, India, will be under the Lemon Tree brand.
As part of its focus on future growth, the company’s primary concentration is on the domestic travellers segment, which currently makes up 85% of the company’s guests.

The first hotel opened in Udyog Vihar, Gurgaon in June 2004, with 49 rooms, each of which are 240ft² in size.
