Marriott International has opened the AC Hotel New Orleans Bourbon, marking the official entry of its boutique brand, AC Hotels by Marriott, in North America.
The new 220-room AC Hotel New Orleans Bourbon will operate under a franchise agreement with NewcrestImage, a Texas-based hotel development, construction and management company.
Marriott International president and chief executive officer Arne Sorenson said: "With the continued rise of the millennial traveler we saw an opportunity to import this highly successful European brand from overseas with the hope of introducing a more experiential and design led, upper moderate tier lifestyle brand to the US."
Each new AC Hotels location is said to feature amenities and culinary elements, including the AC Lounge experience, the AC Library and the AC Kitchen.
The AC Lounge offers wines on tap and craft beers unique to the area, while the AC Library provides a quiet space to linger. The AC Kitchen, modelled on the idea of a European home, features AC Hotels by Marriott signature Iced Coffee.
AC Hotels by Marriott, a lifestyle brand within the Marriott International global portfolio of 18 brands, offers a portfolio of over 75 hotels throughout Spain, Italy, Portugal and France along with New Orleans.
