Spanish hospitality group Meliá Hotels International will expand its Chinese hotel portfolio with the opening of two new hotels in Zhengzhou, China.
The two hotels are Innside by Meliá and Meliá Zhengzhou. They are scheduled to be opened by June 2015 and January 2016, respectively.
The hotel comprises a three buildings complex. It is located in the new business district of Zhengzhou, one for the Innside hotel and the other two devoted to the Meliá hotel.
The hotels will have a combined total of 933 rooms and MICE facilities, including one grand ballroom with accommodation for more than 900 people and other multifunctional meeting rooms that are suitable for weddings and business meetings.
Meliá Zhengzhou offers a private lounge, ‘The Level’, with open bar, exclusive room accommodations, special in room amenities and the finest service.
With the launch, the company expects to meet the needs of the city which experienced a 12% GDP growth in 2012 and whose airport received over ten million visitors.

Currently, the Meliá Hotels & Resorts brand has more than 90 hotels across major cities and resort destinations from Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia to Atlanta, and from Zanzibar in Tanzania to the Bahamas.
The announcement is part of the group’s expansion in China, where the company holds strategic agreements with Leading Groups such as Greenland.
In China, the group will also open properties like the Gran Meliá Xian and the Meliá Jinan in 2014, as well as the Meliá Tian jin and Meliá Chongqin in 2015 and 2016 respectively.
