Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide will launch the Westin brand in Egypt with the opening of The Westin Cairo Golf Resort & Spa Katameya Dunes in early 2015.
The new 128-room resort, which will be owned by New Cairo for Real Estate Investment Company, will be located within the 1.8 million square meter Katameya Dunes luxury residential compound in the New Cairo City District.
Situated within the residential community with a 27-hole championship golf course designed by Nick Faldo and Brian Curley, the resort will be the development’s flagship resort.
Westin Cairo Golf Resort & Spa Katameya Dunes will include 127 guest rooms and one presidential suite featuring in-room technology as well as the Westin Heavenly Bed, Heavenly Bath, Heavenly Shower, Heavenly Robe and exclusive White Tea Aloe bath amenities.
Starwood Hotels & Resorts Europe, Africa and Middle East president Michael Wale said the group looks forward to partnering with New Cairo for Real Estate Investment Company to introduce the Westin brand in Egypt.

Spread over an area of 12,500m², the hotel will offer facilities such as a spacious ballroom, The Heavenly Spa by Westin, the Nick Faldo and Brian Curley designed golf course, a pool, fitness centre and a 24hr business centre.
Katameya Dunes owners and developers Khaled and Tarek Abou Taleb said, "The Westin brand works particularly well with the Katameya Dunes concept and this collaboration is a perfect match, which we expect will create an exceptionally outstanding hotel experience."

Currently, Starwood operates 11 hotels in Egypt under its Sheraton and Le Méridien brands, including Le Méridien Heliopolis, Le Méridien Pyramids, Sheraton Dreamland and the newly opened Le Méridien Cairo Airport in the capital city.
The hospitality group is planning to re-open Sheraton Cairo Hotel & Casino in 2015 after an upgrade.
Additionally, Starwood is also poised to launch two new luxury brands, The St. Regis Cairo and W Cairo, in the capital in 2015 and 2016 respectively.
