Abu Dhabi is poised to expand its hotel room inventory as part of its strategy to bolster tourism, according to a tourism official on Zawya.
By the end of next year, the emirate expects to add more than 2,300 rooms to its current offerings.
This expansion is in line with the emirate’s drive to grow its tourism sector as part of its broader economic diversification efforts.
Abu Dhabi’s Department of Culture and Tourism Undersecretary Saood Abdulaziz Al Hosani detailed that the number of hotel rooms is projected to exceed 36,000 by the end of 2025 and is anticipated to continue its upward trajectory, surpassing 50,000 by 2030.
Al-Housani said: “In line with the updated tourism strategy until 2030, we expect the number of hotel rooms in the emirate to exceed 52,000 at the end of that year.”
As quoted by the semi-official daily Alittihad, Al-Housani shared that Abu Dhabi hotels welcomed nearly 4.3 million guests within the first nine months of this year.
