Airport City Manchester has announced the start of construction on England’s first TRIBE hotel, part of the Accor family.
Set to open at Manchester Airport, the property is located in the centre of Airport City Manchester’s hotel district.
Airport City Manchester is a £1bn development site that will feature hotels and retail destinations, offices, manufacturing, and logistics facilities.
The new-build hotel will feature 412 rooms and suites, a restaurant and bar, a gym, and a crew lounge for airline staff.
Owned by H3 Hotels, the 12,300m2 TRIBE hotel will be completely operational in the first quarter of 2024.
Manchester Airports Group (MAG) property managing director Gareth Jackson said: “Seeing construction commence on our third hotel on-site is another fantastic landmark at Airport City Manchester.

By GlobalData“The hotel district is a key element of the development, providing a crucial amenity cluster between The Hut Group campus, the wider business district, and one of the UK’s busiest airports.
“Bringing TRIBE to site demonstrates our on-going commitment to catering for those quality and forward-thinking brands looking for the scale, opportunity and connectivity that Airport City Manchester offers occupiers and we’re looking forward the hotel opening in 2024.”
Last year, Airport City Manchester awarded the £42m contract to MY Construction.
Aimbridge Hospitality’s international division Interstate Hotels & Resorts was named as the management company for the hotel last month.
The nine-floor property will complement two other hotels in the development including the 280-bed Holiday Inn and a 262-bed Ibis Budget. These two properties are slated to open this summer.
MY Construction managing director Yoav Tal said: “During the past 16 years we’ve delivered over 2,500 keys of premium hotel developments across the country so it’s great to be working with the Airport City Manchester development team and Accor on building what will be the first TRIBE hotel in the UK.”
