Luxury hospitality brand AKA has announced the opening of Hotel AKA Alexandria in Virginia, US.
Designed by Piero Lissoni, the 180-room property situated in Old Town Alexandria blends modern minimalism with mid-century elements.
The hotel features a lobby with art and sleek lines that evoke Japanese minimalism, Scandinavian design and colonial styling.
The Lissoni floating staircase to the hotel’s terrace level will provide guests access to the Zen Garden and the seasonal bar.
The new property features guestrooms and suites with amenities and furnishings including a custom wet bar and residential design-inspired living rooms. The suites spread across an area ranging between 525ft² and 735ft².
Hotel AKA Alexandria offers a lounge and a French-inspired café for guests. It is also equipped with a conference centre, a 1,500ft² junior ballroom and a 700ft² pre-function welcome area.

AKA CEO Larry Korman said: “The opening of Hotel AKA Alexandria brings a distinctively new experience to Alexandria, unlike any hotel the city has offered before.
Together with our partners, we’ve created a modern hotel with sophisticated design, bespoke amenities and services while paying tribute to the rich history of Old Town to bring a new wave of travellers to the city.”
In November last year, AKA announced the date of opening of AKA West Palm, its second property in South Florida, US.
