Thailand-based integrated lifestyle real estate group Asset World Corporation (AWC) has announced its plans to strengthen its alliance with Nobu Hospitality with the development of Plaza Athenee hotels in New York and Bangkok.
This partnership aims to bring ultra-luxury experiences to iconic heritage buildings in these two renowned cities.
The Plaza Athenee Nobu Hotel and Spa New York will be located in the Upper East Side, while the Plaza Athenee Nobu Hotel and Spa Bangkok will be situated by the Chao Phraya River.
These hotels will combine the luxury of Plaza Athenee with the modern lifestyle brand of Nobu, offering classical design and European architecture.
The New York hotel will feature 145 rooms, terraces, a traditional Japanese Onsen and a rooftop area, while the Bangkok hotel will provide luxury hospitality, a world-class F&B experience and a unique riverfront concept.
AWC CEO and president Wallapa Traisorat said: “AWC’s investment for Hotel Plaza Athenee New York, with the values of Bt7,789m ($224m), is based on AWC growth-led strategy, which will lay the foundation for continuous and sustainable growth.

“We believe that the investment in this flagship project in New York can unlock further growth for AWC while broadening the company’s strategic positioning and customer base.”
This tie-up follows AWC’s previous agreement with Nobu Hospitality to open the first Nobu restaurant in Thailand and with these new developments, the two companies aim to preserve the historic value of these buildings and create long-term sustainable value for the communities.
Nobu Hospitality CEO Trevor Horwell said: “The Plaza Athenee Nobu Hotel and Spa Bangkok and the Plaza Athenee Nobu Hotel and Spa New York will redefine the standards of luxury and sophistication not only in Thailand but also in the U.S. This partnership allows us to embark upon an extraordinary journey together.”
