Global luxury hospitality chain Bulgari Hotels and Resorts is set to open a new hotel in Rome, Italy, in June this year.
The proposed opening is significant as it’s the chain’s first hotel to open in Rome – the hometown of the Italian luxury fashion house Bulgari.
The Bulgari Hotel Roma will be the ninth property of the Bulgari Hotels & Resorts collection which includes properties in Milan, Paris, London, Beijing, Shanghai, Dubai, Bali and the recently opened hotel in Tokyo. Other planned openings include Miami, Maldives and Los Angeles.
Set to welcome guests from 9 June, the Bulgari Hotel Roma is located in the Piazza Augusto Imperatore, in the heart of the Campo Marzio neighbourhood. It is also located near the Via del Corso, Spanish Steps and the Bulgari flagship on Via Condotti.
The hotel will offer views of the Mausoleum of Augustus – the tomb of Rome’s first emperor, Octavian Augustus.
Bulgari CEO Jean-Christophe Babin said: “The opening of Bulgari Hotel Roma is a real milestone for Bulgari as it will be finally possible to welcome our guests in the Maison’s hometown, the city which has been a source of inspiration for all our magnificent jewellery creations since the brand foundation.

By GlobalData“The Bulgari Hotel Roma is a real temple of luxury hospitality embodying all the brand values such as exceptional craftmanship, precious materials, Italian contemporary yet timeless design, excellence and glamour.”
The hotel is located in a building that was built between 1936 and 1938 and designed by architect Vittorio Ballio Morpurgo. The building design was incorporated with traditional Roman materials and colours such as ochre Travertine marble and burnt red brick, while the interiors were decorated with sculptures, frescos and mosaics.
Italian architecture and interior design practice ACPV ARCHITECTS Antonio Citterio Patricia Viel has been appointed to provide the architectural project and the interior design of the hotel.
The hotel will offer 114 rooms – most of them suites which will provide views either of the Piazza Augusto Imperatore or of Via della Frezza Street.
The Bulgari Hotel Rome will feature a spa and five dining options, all curated by Italian Michelin-starred chef Niko Romito.
