Choice Hotels is set to strengthen its position in the extended stay segment with the construction of three new Everhome Suites in California and six more in the pipeline for Southern California.
The company’s extended stay hotel openings for the first nine months of 2023 have increased by 38% compared to the same period in 2022.
The domestic pipeline has seen a 12% year-on-year increase, reaching more than 47,000 rooms in the third quarter of 2023.
Paladin Equity Capital, the development partner responsible for the inaugural Everhome Suites in Corona, California, in 2022, is spearheading the new projects.
Strategic growth in California markets
The three new Everhome Suites currently under construction are strategically located in key growth markets of California: Temecula, Ontario and San Bernardino.
Choice Hotels said that the expansion comes in response to a doubling demand for extended-stay hotels, particularly in high-demand areas such as Los Angeles and San Bernardino.

Scheduled to open in the second half of 2024 and early 2025, the four-storey properties will offer apartment-style rooms with distinct areas for work and relaxation.
The properties include fully equipped kitchens, bathrooms, closets, free Wi-Fi and pet-friendly options.
One-bedroom suites featuring in-room washer and dryer facilities will also be available.
