QE2, a 13-deck floating hotel, in Dubai, the UAE, is set to re-open on 1 October. Currently, the hotel is being prepared for guests and has begun accepting reservations for its dining venues.
Before conversion into a hotel, it was a 53-year-old ship that went around the world 25 times before the UAE became its permanent home in 2018, reported Esquireme.com.

During its operation as a vessel, it ferried over 2.5 million people to the US and back over 800 times.
After being docked in Dubai, the vessel has been refurbished following which it currently has 224 reconditioned suites.
QE2 secured approval from Dubai Tourism, the Department of Economic Development and the Dubai Municipality to resume accepting guests and the general public.
An overnight stay costs begin from AED435 ($118.4) per room along with breakfast. Guests can also opt for Captain’s room for AED473 ($128.7)
Dining choices offered on the floating hotel consists of The Pavilion, which overlooks the Port Mina Rashid Yacht Club, the recently refurbished Queen’s Grill, the English bar The Golden Lion, and an all-day dining restaurant Lido.
Earlier this month, hotel establishments in Dubai were warned of heavy penalties and closures for failing to comply with Covid-19 regulations.
According to Dubai Media Office tweet, non-compliant establishments would face a penalty and/or closure, as per the enforced regulations.
The civic body had it would continue to carry out intensive inspection campaigns on hotel establishments to ensure compliance with Covid-19 precautionary measures.
