Fortune Hotels, a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Indian hotel chain ITC hotel group, has opened Fortune Resort Kalimpong in the foothills of the Himalayas of West Bengal, India, The Economic Times has reported.
The resort features rooms and suites offering views of Mt. Kangchenjunga. The amenities include an outdoor swimming pool and a spa.
Fortune Hotels managing director Samir MC was quoted by the publication saying: “Kalimpong is our conscious acknowledgement of the potential that this relatively unexplored quarter of the country holds for the travel and hospitality industry.
“We are committed to providing our guests with memorable experiences in this panoramic town by the Teesta River, endowed with a unique culture, colonial architecture, Buddhist monasteries and sprawling tea plantations.
“By bringing Kalimpong into our portfolio, we look forward to partaking in the growth and development of this enchanting corner of India.”
The property includes an all-day dining option, Zodiac, which serves Indian, continental, Chinese and other delicacies.
