Hyatt Hotels and Extell Development Company have revealed plans to open a Grand Hyatt-branded property called Grand Hyatt Deer Valley in the US state of Utah.
Scheduled to open in late 2024, in time for the ski season, the property will mark the brand’s entry into the state.
This hotel is set to be included in the scheduled expansion of Deer Valley Resort that was announced by Alterra Mountain Company in August this year.
Hyatt Hotels vice-president of development for Americas Kimo Bertram said: “Strategically positioned to meet increasing demand in resort markets, Grand Hyatt Deer Valley is a testament to the deliberate expansion of Hyatt’s luxury brands in sought-after destinations.”
Extell Development Company founder and chairman Gary Barnett said: “Grand Hyatt Deer Valley has been years in the making and will be the cornerstone of our new village at Deer Valley Resort.
“We have meticulously designed a hotel offering luxurious finishes and best-in-class amenities to appeal to guests and their families seeking a stay in the mountains.”

By GlobalDataLocated at Deer Valley Resort in Park City, the hotel will feature 387 guestrooms, including 40 suites and 55 private residences.
Dining options will include an après-ski bar and grill, a coffee bistro and a signature bar and restaurant.
It will offer indoor event space spanning 38,900ft², which includes a 10,000ft² grand ballroom.
Other amenities to be provided at the property include a heated year-round pool and whirlpool, an outdoor event terrace with mountain views and a fitness centre.
The hotel’s location will offer guests access to Deer Valley Resort’s summer and winter attractions.
These include restaurants, a children’s centre, retail outlets and a ski beach that offers spots for sunbathing alongside mountain views.
The hotel will be located 40 minutes away from Salt Lake City International Airport and a short drive from Park City’s main street.
Guests at the property will also be able to enjoy hiking, golf, mountain biking, horseback riding and a range of watersports between July and August.
