Hotel chain Grand Mercure has formally opened its new property in Gangnam, Seoul, South Korea, under hospitality group Accor.

Previously known as the Imperial Palace Seoul, the hotel has been an emblem of heritage since its inception in 1989.

Accor Ambassador Korea operations vice-president Vincent Lelay said: “Grand Mercure Imperial Palace Seoul Gangnam not only captures elegant heritage and local traditions but also offers various rest options through its combined hotel and serviced residence operations to meet diverse guest needs.”

The Grand Mercure Imperial Palace Hotel is designed to cater to the needs of both short-term visitors and guests planning extended stays.

Its dual-wing concept comprises a hotel wing with 224 rooms and suites, updated with modern amenities.

The Serviced Residence wing offers 90 appointed apartments, providing long-stay guests with a combination of homely convenience and hotel service. Dining options at the hotel include four unique venues such as Familia, which serves a wide range of international dishes in a buffet setting, and Cheonsan with a modern take on Chinese fine dining.
