The Lavin family has attributed the sale of the hotel to shifting their focus to “other business interests”.

Commenting on the acquisition, the Harrison family said: “The Harrison family are proud new owners of the business. We are planning to invest and support its continuous growth.”

The transaction was facilitated by Christie & Co, a business property adviser.

Christie & Co Hotels regional director David Lee said: “We were delighted to assist our much-valued clients with the sale of this renowned, profitable hotel.

“The Lavin family have been excellent custodians of the hotel over the past few years, and we are sure the Harrison family will also enjoy success in running this fantastic full-service hotel business.”

Last month, Christie & Co facilitated the transaction of the Best Western Wessex Royale Hotel, a Georgian Grade II listed property in the UK. The hotel was sold to Sleeping Bear Hotels.

The adviser also facilitated the sale of Queens Court Hotel in Exeter to the Harries-Jones family in the same month.
