Hilton’s luxury hotel brand Waldorf Astoria Hotels & Resorts has revealed plans to open its first property in Malaysia in 2024.
The new hotel Waldorf Astoria Kuala Lumpur in Kuala Lumpur will be managed by Hilton and developed and owned by Tradewinds.

By GlobalDataConstruction and renovation of the new property is anticipated to commence in the third quarter of 2022.
Hilton Asia and Australasia development senior vice-president Guy Phillips said: “After many years of shared success, we are thrilled to be expanding our partnership with Tradewinds to launch Waldorf Astoria Hotels & Resorts’ first hotel in Malaysia.
“Waldorf Astoria Kuala Lumpur is a fantastic addition to our suite of brands in this cosmopolitan city, and we look forward to further expanding our footprint as we welcome more guests with Hilton’s award-winning signature hospitality.”
The new Waldorf Astoria property is located within Kuala Lumpur’s Golden Triangle and close to Bukit Bintang shopping and entertainment district.
The hotel is around an hour drive away from the Kuala Lumpur International Airport and a ten-minute drive away from KL Sentral station.
Waldorf Astoria Kuala Lumpur will feature 279 suites, with each room expected to offer at least 76m² of space.
The hotel will have five restaurants including Waldorf Astoria brand’s signature lounge and bar Peacock Alley.
Other facilities include wellness centre and a 3,390m² meeting space, with a 1,845ft² ballroom, suitable for hosting various events and celebrations.
Hilton’s brand Waldorf Astoria currently has around 14 hotels open or under development in the Asia Pacific region.
The brand has recently announced to its debut in Australia, with a new 28-floor luxury hotel, which is scheduled to open by 2025.
