Hyatt Hotels has announced the opening of Hyatt Centric Santo Domingo in the Dominican Republic, marking the debut of Hyatt Centric brand in the Caribbean.

This property offers a new lifestyle hotel experience in the capital’s Ensanche Piantini neighbourhood serving both business and leisure travellers.

The property is positioned as a gateway for travellers to explore the city’s upscale amenities and historic sites, including the UNESCO World Heritage Site recognised Colonial Zone.

Hyatt Centric Santo Domingo general manager Luis Emilio Gomez Garcia said: “Hyatt Centric Santo Domingo’s prime location offers a launchpad for modern travellers to connect with the best of what the city has to offer.

The hotel boasts 130 guest rooms and suites, each featuring a contemporary design inspired by the work of  Dominican artist Thimo Pimentel.

Local artist Patricio Correa’s natural materials and colourful wooden sculptures further enhance the hotel’s aesthetic.

For quick refreshments, Café Caobana on the lobby terrace serves local Dominican favourites.

The hotel’s event spaces span 12,976ft², accommodating up to 358 people, with the 11th-floor terrace offering views ideal for outdoor weddings and receptions.
