Hyatt Hotels Corporation has announced that an affiliate of the company has reached an agreement with Holder East Ltd for the development of a Hyatt House hotel in Melbourne, Australia.
This marks the debut of the Hyatt House brand in the country, highlighting Hyatt’s expansion of its select service brands in the Asia Pacific region.
The new hotel, named Hyatt House South Melbourne, is scheduled to open its doors in 2025.
Hyatt House hotels are tailored for guests in need of spacious and well-equipped accommodations for both short and long-term stays. They offer a home-like atmosphere with contemporary design, modern guestroom spaces, and a welcoming community environment.
Hyatt House South Melbourne will be situated in the bustling South Melbourne area, known for its South Melbourne Market and a wide array of multicultural dining, shopping, and entertainment options.
Its proximity to ANZAC station will provide convenient access to the Royal Botanical Gardens, the Australian Grand Prix racetrack in Albert Park, and various business districts, including St Kilda Road, Docklands, Southbank, and the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre.

The 97-guestroom Hyatt House South Melbourne is currently under construction as part of the mixed-use Oasis Residences project, designed by renowned architects Hayball.
The hotel will offer a variety of room types, including studios and 1-bedroom residential-styled Kitchen Suites featuring kitchen islands, refrigerators, stovetops, spacious living rooms, comfortable bedrooms, and modern bathrooms.
The all-day lounge will house the H Bar, providing a central gathering place for guests to enjoy freshly made breakfast or relax with a cocktail in the evening.
The hotel will feature a 24/7 fitness room and communal spaces for working, socialising, or unwinding.
