Indian Hotels Company (IHCL) has further expanded its presence in the Indian state of Rajasthan with the opening of Taj Sawai in Ranthambore.
Located in Khilchipur village, the hotel features 60 rooms and dining options including a forest-themed all-day diner Machan and the Tropics grill and pool bar.
The property has more than 2,500ft² of banqueting space and an open lawn for both meetings and social gatherings.
The hotel’s J Wellness Circle spa comprises an infinity pool and a fitness centre.
IHCL managing director and CEO Puneet Chhatwal said: “Present in Rajasthan for over five decades, IHCL has a special relationship with the state. Credited with putting Rajasthan on the global tourism circuit, we continue to expand our footprint in new destinations offering diverse experiences.
“We are delighted to open Taj Sawai, our second hotel in Ranthambore, one of India’s most renowned National Parks.”

The hotel is situated on the outskirts of Ranthambore Tiger Reserve and employs a team of naturalists who offer guests safari experiences within the reserve.
The hotel’s location also provides guests access to nearby attractions such as the Ranthambore Fort, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Taj Sawai brings IHCL’s total number of hotels in the state to 23, eight of which are in the process of development, across its Taj, SeleQtions, Vivanta, and Ginger brands.
Last month, the company opened a new Vivanta-branded hotel in Tawang, Arunachal Pradesh.
The company currently has 280 hotels, with 82 under development, spanning four continents, 11 countries, and more than 100 locations.
