Indian Hotels Company (IHCL) has opened Taj Mussoorie Foothills in Dehradun, enhancing its presence in the state of Uttarakhand.

The new 115-key hotel includes 16 suites, set against the backdrop of the Himalayan foothills.

IHCL managing director and CEO Puneet Chhatwal said: “IHCL will have a multi-brand presence in the city and with the recently opened Delhi-Dehradun Expressway enhancing connectivity, it has evolved to be a commercially prominent city in the region.

“In addition, its proximity to popular destinations such as Mussoorie, Rishikesh, and Haridwar attracts a mix of leisure, adventure and spiritual tourism.”

The Taj Mussoorie Foothills offers a range of dining options and event spaces that span from 1,200ft² to 8,000ft², complemented by meeting rooms for business and social gatherings.

Additional facilities include a spa, a children’s activity zone, pet-friendly amenities, a walking track with accessibility features, and electric vehicle (EV) charging stations.

Taj Mussoorie Foothills Dehradun general manager Naveen Tomar said: “Taj Mussoorie Foothills is designed to offer guests an immersive experience in the lap of nature. From curated experiences to bespoke services, we look forward to creating unforgettable stays for our guests.”

Often referred to as the ‘Doon Valley’, Dehradun is a popular hill city and a gateway to Mussoorie. Attractions in the area include Robber’s Cave and Sahastradhara.

With this new hotel, IHCL now operates 17 hotels in Uttarakhand, with seven more under development.

IHCL boasts a global portfolio of 362 hotels, including 125 under development, across four continents, 14 countries, and over 150 locations.

Last month, IHCL signed a new hotel under the Gateway brand in Dehradun as part of a conversion project, aiming to tap into the growing tourism market.
